Privacy Policy

iScout (“we”, “our”, “us”) values your privacy. This policy describes how we collect, use and share information when you use the iScout iOS app and our website.

1. Data We Collect

• Account Information - a unique Firebase UID, optional e-mail / Apple Sign-In credentials.
• Location Data - GPS coordinates you choose to save as pins, and coarse location to show nearby content.
• User-Generated Content - pin titles, descriptions, photos, videos, emojis, tags, comments.
• Usage & Analytics - anonymous events (which screen view you're in, pin_created, etc.) plus crash reports via Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics.
• Device Data - iOS version, device model, app version.
• Push-Notification Tokens - APNs / FCM tokens linked to your UID so we can deliver comment/like/follow alerts.

2. How We Use Information

• Provide core functionality - store your pins, display maps, enable social features.
• Send push notifications you have enabled (new comments, likes, follows).
• Improve performance, fix crashes and develop new features using aggregated analytics.
• Respond to support requests you send from within the app or by e-mail.

3. Sharing & Disclosure

• Public pins and comments are visible to all users.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• Trusted service providers (Firebase/Google Cloud, Apple Push Notification service) process data on our behalf.

4. Your Choices

• Edit or delete your pins at any time.
• Toggle public-pin visibility in Settings.
• Toggle comment / like / follow notifications in Settings.
• Ability to delete your content yourself.

5. Data Retention

We keep your content until you delete it.

6. Security

All traffic is encrypted via HTTPS; Firebase stores data encrypted at rest. Access to production data is limited to authorised personnel under the principle of least privilege.

7. Children's Privacy

iScout is not directed at children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version and update the “Last updated” date above.
